To those who don't know, Peter Egan is an automotive writer known for his monthly columns, Side Glances in Road & Track magazine and Leanings in Cycle World magazine, as well as road tests and occasional features in both magazines. However he is best known for regretting to sell his old bikes and tracking down the exact model to buy back or find one that as close as possible , making the model replica of the first one he had. It is called Peter Eganing. And it is a common problem often find among middle aged to senior riders.
He also loves to write about the process.
I found this letter sent to CycleWorld magazine and I was laughing my ass off..
I wonder how many other out there besides me wonder those same thing about Peter Egan? I always look forward to his writings and ramblings, and I've purchased both his books over the years. But, how many times have we read about him buying a bike, fixing it up, looking at it in the garage, while consuming a well-known dark beer sold in a black can, raving on and on about the bike, selling the bike, wishing he hadn't sold the bike, trying to buy the bike back, from the new owner who doesn't want to sell it, telling wife Barbara he's buying another bike just like the one he sold because he misses it so much, loading up the van with said new purchase(usually in Winter), bringing it home, wondering why he sold the last one because this one is obviously the best bike in the whole wide world, ordering new parts for the new bike, then riding it around and somehow the world doesn't seem quite so bad after all, then vowing to never sell THIS one? Hey, Peter, Ride some different bikes , already! Try something new, something you haven't owned yet, something totally different! Buy a supermotard bike or a Gold Wing, or something...Anything but what you have already written about twice or three times!

Mr. Anderson is not the alone about Peter Egan, I must say...
Also while I was searching for his picture to put in this blog, my computer detected a virus. Peter Egan picture is worse than porn pics I guess. Darn you Peter Egan.
